State Correctional Institution Muncy
New Intake/Records Building
State Correctional Institution Muncy
Muncy, PA
(ongoing)
Honor Engineer Company played a key role in the expansion project at State Correctional Institution Muncy, which involved constructing a new 12,000-square-foot Intake/Records Building and expanding the secure perimeter. Our team performed topographic survey, utility mapping, subsurface utility engineering, civil site design, utility coordination, and stormwater permitting for the 3+ acre project area. We established geodetic site control to accurately map existing features, utilities, and topography, and provided ASCE 38-02 SUE Level D, C, and B utility location services using electromagnetic and GPR equipment. Honor designed a 4-inch sanitary service line for the new building, ensuring the system could handle the additional 2,290 gallons per day without requiring upgrades. We coordinated with the West Branch Regional Authority and secured all necessary approvals, including a Sewage Facilities Planning Module from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The project, which includes the demolition of two existing buildings and the relocation of correctional satellite equipment, is currently in the construction phase. Honor continues to support the construction procurement process and administration.
