Honor Engineer Co. is serving on the project team that is providing capacity allow for disinfection of an additional 305 MGD of wastewater during high-impact storm events for the CSO Bypass at Woods Run Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant expansion design tasks include a passive CSO-related bypass flow control structure, a single influent conduit connecting the overflow channel to the current effluent side of the existing chlorine contact tanks and modifications to the existing chlorine contact tanks, hose reels and flushing gates to facilitate flushing the chlorine contact tanks. The project also includes a new building to house sodium hypochlorite storage and feed equipment and a new outfall structure to allow for effluent discharge to the Ohio River. Honor is responsible for reviewing technical reports and plans produced by the design team to ensure feasibility during construction. In addition, we are also assisting with front-end and technical specifications used for the bidding and construction phases.
