Mahoning Booster Pump Station Upgrade
Project Overview
Honor Engineer Company served as the design team leader for the Mahoning Booster Pump Station Upgrade, a design-build project to modernize critical potable water infrastructure for the Mahoning Township system. The project replaces aging booster and chlorination facilities with a consolidated booster station and chlorine injection building to improve system reliability, safety, and long-term performance.
Key Challenges & Solutions
The project requires maintaining uninterrupted water service while replacing and consolidating active system components. Honor developed phased construction sequencing and coordinated yard piping modifications to allow the new facility to be constructed and brought online prior to decommissioning the existing booster stations.
Honor is leading a multidisciplinary design effort integrating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering. The new facility includes booster pumps with future expansion capability, sodium hypochlorite disinfection systems, flow measurement, and integration with existing storage infrastructure.
