This Veterans Day, we proudly recognize the veterans within our team—Doug Allwein, our President and CEO, and Mark Bolze, a valued leader—whose dedication and service continue to inspire our mission and values.

Celebrating the Journeys of Doug Allwein and Mark Bolze

Doug’s career began at the Defense Mapping School in the United States Army, where he completed the Geodetic Survey Course with honors. Over his five years of active duty, he made substantial contributions to critical missions, from supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002 to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Doug’s work took him to pivotal locations, including Baghdad International Airport in Iraq and Kandahar International Airport in Afghanistan, as well as countless missions across the United States. His experiences taught him the power of precision, teamwork, and resilience—qualities he now channels into every project at Honor Engineer Company.

Mark’s service journey started right out of high school in the Cold War-era peacetime Army. After training in Alabama, he joined a Military Police unit at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and later continued serving in the Army Reserves while attending college. His time in the Army included multiple peacetime deployments, co-training with allies in Egypt and Honduras. Mark’s steadfast commitment and readiness to collaborate reflect his time in the Army and bring a profound sense of purpose to the work he does today.

Their experiences have taught them to tackle challenges with confidence and to inspire those around them to do the same. Doug’s and Mark’s contributions have made Honor Engineer Company not just a workplace but a community that values the dedication and sacrifices of veterans.

This appreciation extends beyond our projects and into our nonprofit initiative, Gather With Honor, which was created to help reconnect battle buddies who have lost touch after returning home.
